How would you like to proceed?
a nice blue plastic box but does not really have a huge capacity for it's size. You should be able to charge it once or few times with a reasonably sized power bank that you use for your phone, tablet or laptop. The relative big size is probably because of the cigarette lighter socket that it needs to house, that you can connect to the matching plug of the pump. It has a button to switch the battery on. When doing that, up to 4 blue lights light up, representing how much of the energy in the battery is left. If the pump is connected, and the battery switched on, the pump is activated. It is that easy. You connect the board, and push the auto button and it starts to pump and stops when done. Great.
APPROXIMATELY TWO SUP BOARDS?
The information on the website says the battery "approximately" can inflate two sup boards, but fails to tell us if that would be more like 1,5 sup board or 2,4. The battery comes somehow charged, three or four lights suggested it was quite full. So we instantly went to the water with out boards, the battery and the pump to find out that with the initial charge we only could inflate like 0,5 sup board. Not approximately 2, but not even 1. One full board and the hard part of the other had to be inflated manually. A second try however, with a fully charged battery, made us conclude that it was possible to inflate two sup boards on a single charge. Even if you find out at 5PSI that the valve was not set the right way to hold the air in ;-).
THE CHALLENGE OF CHARGING
How to charge the battery is a bit complicated, as the instruction manual does give all kind of warnings not to make mistakes here, but does NOT give any instructions how to charge it properly. The battery does not come with a charger but it has an USB-C input and I think it came with an USB-A to USB-C cable. No matter the warnings in the manual, it is unclear what specifications your charger needs to comply with. It suggests to connect the battery to a cigarette plug outlet, but the package does not include a connecting cable. Also it says it might need 9 hours to fully charge, which would require 9 hours of driving to recharge the battery. That doesn't really make sense.
SUPPORT?
I contacted support, but that was quite disappointing. They first sent me a movie how to use the pump and after a second email with the same question (what specifications i needed for a charger to charge the battery properly) it became clear they did not have any experience with the thing in the first place. That is not so cool.
After I found out the support was not going to bring me any further, I ignored all the warnings and just tried a few chargers. A 30W (macbook) charger did not work, a 10W (ipad) charger made the thing light up. Good news: nothing exploded and the battery was charged. Smaller chargers might work too, but I didn't try.
BOTTOM LINE
The battery works fine, after a proper first charge with any charger that works. If the battery is fully charged, it should have enough power to inflate two sup boards indeed. And after that, there is a little power left. The battery is big but lacks any IP rating / protection against water. The instruction manual and iRocker support are useless for this thing. If you get something cheaper with the same specs, it might be worth a consideration.
SUGGESTION FOR iROCKER
Make the thing a bit safer with some protection against water. Upgrade the manual to something useful. Let the customer service know what the thing is and how it works.
